Let the eBay hunt begin!

A PakTrakr would be nice!

Let the hunt for auction bargains begin! Going for a cheap EV takes time, so why not start right now? I’ve been to a local auction and sweeped Tradera (Swedish equivalent to eBay) now and placed my bids. Hopefully I win some of them. My bids are put both for the gathering of EV parts and some for reselling the parts or tools to finance parts of my EV. Also added 1000 SEK to my paypal account (should be around $ 120 USD).

Current stats:

Parts to EV: 0
Parts/Tools for garage: 0
Cost 1000 SEK
Result: Poor :(

Check your spelling!

I got a polite PM from a user on DIYelectriccar, giving me a hint that the spelling on RechargeThePlanet wasn’t really that good. Well, since English isn’t my mother tongue I usually run the pages through Open office Writer but I’ve been to lazy to do that on Recharge and then forgot about it.

Said and done! Now I’ve checked it and hopefully it’s a lot better. Check it out!

I’ve also added favicons to Go electric, EU! and RechargeThePlanet. It doesn’t really change the pages but it gives them a little nice icon when browsing in tabs in IE or Firefox.

Happy winter everybody! The first snow this winter fell today!

Killer, standby killer.

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008
Read about the huge amount of electricity that is consumed by electric appliances and gatgets in standby. The general advice from the writer was for everyone to completely unplug the devices or use a standby-killer.

I’ve just done this and got myself a standby-killer that I’ve installed in my computer setup. Not only am I saving electricity but also the lazy side of me get satisfied when there’s no need to switch off more than the computer to have everything turned off.

Those criminals!

However I can’t hold myself from thinking that the big oil tankers are unnecessary, or would be at least, if the local wind turbines and solar power plants were extended and used to power our (electric) cars.

No transportation of oil, no fighting over oil, no oil pirates, no oil covered penguins.
What a wonderful world…

Let me tell you who I am…

Monday, November 17th, 2008

First off, I’m glad you took the time to pop in here. This is my little blog about different kinds of alternative energy, using less energy and different ways to power our cars, mostly electric. What keps me going is my interest in these questions and the feedback from readers, forums and other blogs. Love your comments!

I run a couple of websites in my spare time, FredrikMedia a site mainly with photographs I’ve taken, EkonomiZonen about economics, in swedish, Go electric, EU! about electric cars, Recharge the planet about renewable energy, Runqvist.se a personal blog, also this in swedish and last but not least this blog.

Right now I’m unemployed, meaning I have a lot of time to write on blogs and a little or no money to do cool EV and energy projects. =( But this is only a temporary thing, I hope. Would luv to order in some cool gadgets and accessories to build some kind of DIY for the environment. And present it to you guys!

Building my own EV, taking a house of the grid, building a solar powered hybrid motorhome or setting up a server-service powered only on home made green electricity. This is some of my dreams, pushing this interest.

Hope you come back soon, and check for updates.
